Terms, Refund & Dispute Center
The operating rules for lessons, LingoCoins and payouts on LingoConnect. Last updated 2026.
Section 1
Core Platform Use & Safety
LingoConnect is an online interactive marketplace connecting independent TEFL tutors with students. The platform maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or sharing of personal contact data (emails, phone numbers) inside private chat windows. All communications and lesson execution must remain securely inside the LingoConnect workspace ecosystem.
Section 2
LingoCoins Wallet Disclaimers
LingoCoins are virtual utility tokens specific to the LingoConnect framework ecosystem and hold no external cash valuation. All purchased LingoCoin bundles possess a definitive 12-month expiration timestamp from their exact purchase date. Unused tokens after 12 months are automatically invalidated and removed from the active wallet balance.
Section 3
Cancellation & Refund Policy (15% Split Safeguards)
Teacher Cancellation
If a teacher cancels a scheduled class slot at any time before the session begins, the system guarantees a 100% full reversal. Direct card payments are refunded via Stripe, and LingoCoins are returned to the student wallet instantly.
Student Cancellation (Fair Notice Rule)
Students can cancel a booking with zero penalty up to 24 hours before class starts, receiving a 100% refund. If a student cancels inside the late 24-hour notice window, no refund is granted. The platform collects its standard 15% service fee, and the remaining 85% net take-home earnings are distributed directly to the teacher to protect their held schedule block.
Section 4
Dispute Resolution Protocols
In the event of connection failures or system bugs occurring mid-lesson, either user can trigger a dispute flag within 24 hours of the cut-off timestamp. Disputed sessions freeze the transaction balance, routing the class ledger to the hidden Admin Compliance Review dashboard. The LingoConnect Admin Team holds ultimate administrative final authority to examine lesson logs, review timer metadata records, and issue binding coin or cash refund arbitrations.
